Moscow - (Saba):
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its air defense systems destroyed 170 Ukrainian drones and 14 Ukrainian drone boats in the Black Sea overnight.
Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "Last night, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, operational air defense systems destroyed and intercepted 170 Ukrainian drones."
The ministry added: "96 of these were shot down over Crimea, 47 over Krasnodar Territory, nine drones over Rostov Oblast, eight over Bryansk and Kursk Oblasts, and two over Belgorod Oblast."
The statement added: "Air defense systems operating in the Black Sea destroyed eight Storm Shadow cruise missiles and three Ukrainian Neptune-MD guided missiles."
Ukrainian armed forces target Russian border areas in Crimea and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh Oblasts with drones and missiles almost daily.
Russian forces, for their part, continue their special military operation aimed at demilitarizing Ukraine, eliminating threats to Russia's security from Ukraine, and protecting civilians in the Donbas region.
