Sierra Leone has witnessed a new surge in monkeypox cases, with more than 1,000 cases recorded since the beginning of the year.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement on Friday that "Sierra Leone is witnessing a new surge in smallpox cases, with 1,140 cases and nine deaths recorded since the beginning of the year."
