The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stated that it regrets the move to ban the movement from a country historically known for its neutral stance and defense of international humanitarian law.
It considers it a reprehensible bias against the Palestinian people, their just cause, and their legitimate resistance against the occupation, especially in light of the genocidal war being perpetrated by the Zionist entity in the Gaza Strip.
The movement added in a statement on Thursday that the international community's political, humanitarian, and moral obligations, foremost among them Switzerland, require urgent action to halt the blatant violations of international law, including the Geneva Conventions, which the terrorist Netanyahu government violates daily. This action should not be limited to restricting our people or imposing laws that restrict freedoms and besiege any pressure movement to stop the ongoing massacres in the Gaza Strip.
The statement called on the Swiss government to rescind this unjust and unjustified decision, to stand up for justice, and to support the just struggle of the Palestinian people to end the occupation and achieve their legitimate national rights, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on their land with Quds as its capital.
