Ramallah - Saba:

The Palestinian Prisoners' Information Office, an independent human rights organization, revealed that "prisoner Hassan Salameh has been subjected to systematic torture in solitary confinement cells at Megiddo Prison for several months, under harsh and inhumane detention conditions."

In a statement reported by Quds Press on Wednesday evening, the office added that "prisoner Salameh has been subjected to six physical assaults over the past two months, in addition to deliberate starvation that has left his body exhausted, with his weight dropping to 62 kilograms."

It confirmed that "Salmeh suffers from tooth loss and severe visual impairment, while being deliberately denied access to eyeglasses."

Salama, a Palestinian military commander, participated in the First Intifada and became a leader of the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas. The occupation accused him of responsibility for bombings that killed and wounded dozens of settlers. He was dubbed the "Hero of the Sacred Vengeance Operations." He was sentenced to 48 life terms, and the Zionist enemy refused to release him as part of the 2011 prisoner exchange deal.

Coinciding with the war of extermination waged by the Zionist enemy army, with full American support, against the Gaza Strip, the enemy forces escalated their measures against prisoners, including humiliation, beatings, torture, and food deprivation. These conditions have led to the deaths of 65 prisoners, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.
