A meeting held today in the Capital Municipality approved the financing and implementation mechanism for the project to restore, rehabilitate, and maintain the streets of Al-Umana neighborhood in Al-Wahda District at 278 million and 753 thousand riyals.
The meeting, which included the Deputy Mayor for the Works and Projects Sector, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi; Directors of Planning, Dr. Abdulwahab Sharaf Al-Din; Finance, Dr. Muhammad Al-Junaid; Public Works, Engineer Abdulsalam Al-Jaradi; Community Initiatives Projects, Engineer Ahmed Al-Mashriqi; the District, Sami Humaid; and Maintenance, Abdulsalam Mahawish, reviewed the procedures related to the implementation of the project, which will be jointly funded by the concerned authorities and Al-Wahda District.
The agreement included the mechanism and phases of project implementation and securing the necessary funding with the participation of all concerned parties in the Municipality. A contract will be made with the Executive Unit for the construction, maintenance, and restoration of roads and public spaces to carry out the project, while the service authorities will commit to executing the tasks assigned to them.
The meeting also reviewed the technical and engineering studies and designs submitted by the General Administration for Community Initiatives Projects, targeting several damaged streets in Al-Omana neighborhood as a first phase.
The meeting stressed the importance of collective efforts and commitment to the mechanism and provisions of project implementation in a manner that contributes to the restoration and maintenance of the targeted and damaged streets in Al-Wahda District.
