The Hajj and Umrah Sector in Yemen denounced the Saudi regime’s obstruction of Yemeni pilgrims’ travel through Sana’a International Airport despite the sector’s early and continuous follow-up.

In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the sector confirmed it had pursued all necessary procedures to facilitate Yemeni pilgrims’ travel as part of its responsibilities in serving the guests of Allah’s Sacred House.

The sector expressed deep regret over the numerous obstacles imposed by the Saudi regime to block access to the Holy Mosque and politicize Hajj rituals, particularly by refusing to permit flights from Sana’a Airport despite most pilgrims being elderly.

The statement noted that the Saudi regime continues to delay issuing necessary travel permits for pilgrims via Sana’a Airport despite the limited time and authorized airlines. Over 80% of pilgrims are from Sana’a and nearby areas, where travel through Aden Airport or the land border is unsafe and logistically difficult.

The Hajj Sector held the Saudi regime fully responsible for depriving pilgrims of travel through Sana’a Airport and called for immediate facilitation of their journey to perform Hajj rituals.
