Gaza - Saba:

Adnan Abu Hasna, the media advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), confirmed on Wednesday that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is dangerous and unprecedented in its history.

Abu Hasna said in press statements: "Gaza is entering critical days after food supplies have nearly run out," noting that the triangle of death, hunger, and disease threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of residents of the Strip.

He explained that tens of thousands of families are eating one meal every two or three days due to the lack of food, noting that hundreds of thousands of children are suffering from symptoms of severe malnutrition.

The UNRWA media advisor explained that tens of thousands of cases of anemia and advanced malnutrition have been recorded, stressing that the continuation of the current situation means an unprecedented humanitarian disaster within a few weeks.

He pointed out that UNRWA and the World Food Program currently have nothing to distribute, adding, "The Strip is facing a catastrophic health crisis resulting from the collapse of the health system and water contamination."

Abu Hasna pointed out that the residents of the Gaza Strip do not possess the immunity to resist any new diseases that might spread in the Strip, stressing that every day of delay in the entry of aid leads to lives being lost.

He also confirmed that 3,000 aid trucks are waiting at the gates of Gaza, but the closure of the crossings prevents their entry. He explained that the occupation authorities have been preventing the entry of any aid since March 8, exacerbating the crisis.

The enemy has continued to impose a comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip since March 1, closing all commercial crossings and preventing the entry of goods and aid.

This follows the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, its renewal of the war, and its refusal to enter the second phase of the agreement, which entered into force on January 19.
