Gaza - Saba:
The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" affirmed on Tuesday that the ongoing Israeli enemy’s use of starvation as a weapon against innocent civilians in Gaza Strip represents a disregard for the international community, humanitarian values, and laws, as well as a challenge to international institutions, foremost the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which is holding hearings dedicated to the occupation’s humanitarian obligations.
In a press statement, the movement said, "The statements made by UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, in which he revealed the Israeli occupation army’s use of UNRWA staff as human shields during their arrest, confirm the brutality of this rogue entity that violates all humanitarian values and crosses every level of criminality, deliberately and systematically targeting humanitarian organizations operating in the Strip."
Hamas called on all countries of the world and UN institutions, particularly the Security Council, to stand with the values of humanity and justice and pressure the occupation to lift the suffocating blockade imposed on over 2.3 million people in Gaza, ending the ongoing crime of deliberate starvation unfolding before the eyes of the world.
The movement renewed its appeal to Arab and Islamic nations, their peoples, and freedom-loving people worldwide to take urgent action to aid the Palestinian people in Gaza and mobilize at all levels to demand the opening of crossings for the entry of relief supplies, while supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land.
For the sixtieth consecutive day, the Israeli occupation army continues its tight siege on Gaza, blocking all access to life essentials—food, water, medicine, and fuel—as famine worsens amid depleting food stocks and deliberate bombardment. This is part of the brutal genocidal war waged on the Strip and systematic efforts to destroy all means of life there.
