Moscow - Saba:
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian presidency (the Kremlin), stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire is impossible without resolving all outstanding issues.
In press remarks on Tuesday, Peskov added, "We have not yet received any response from the Kyiv regime regarding direct negotiations. Moscow has no idea whether Kyiv will join the truce on the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, and there has been no reaction to Putin’s proposal."
He stated that Kyiv’s refusal to provide a direct response to Russia’s ceasefire initiative is "manipulation," emphasizing that the priority is to begin peace negotiations, while the legitimacy of Zelensky is a secondary matter.
