The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that its forces had eliminated 200 Ukrainian soldiers during operations targeting Ukrainian troops in Russia’s Kursk region.
In a statement, the ministry said that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces lost around 200 personnel, one tank, one armored personnel carrier, two armored fighting vehicles, 13 vehicles, two rocket launch platforms, one transport-loading vehicle, one escort vehicle, as well as two artillery units and a mortar.
Cumulatively, Ukrainian losses in the Kursk direction amount to approximately 74,450 soldiers, 407 tanks, 333 infantry fighting vehicles, 304 armored personnel carriers, 2,270 armored combat vehicles, 2,717 vehicles, 612 artillery pieces, 57 multiple rocket launchers, 10 transport-loading vehicles, 123 electronic warfare systems, 18 counter-battery radars, 10 air defense radars, and 57 engineering units, according to the ministry.
Ukrainian forces had launched a surprise offensive in the border area of Kursk last August and continue to maintain positions in parts of the region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense previously announced in March that its forces had recaptured 29 towns in Kursk between March 8 and 14.
