Standards Authority destroys goods & commodities that violate specifications

Sana'a - Saba:
The Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority (YSQA) has destroyed a number of goods and goods in a number of provinces.

In a statement issued today, the authority said it destroyed 214 cartons of expired foodstuffs in Sa'ada province, 1,000 cartons of barley drink, and 53 cartons of fruits in Sana'a due to their violation of the approved standard specifications.

In Al-Hodeida province, a quantity of gas cylinder plugs and regulators that violate the standard specifications, car spare parts "used cans and cans of residents" as products prohibited for import, as well as a quantity of children's toys and Abu Shawkah scales were destroyed for violating Yemeni standard specifications.

The statement emphasized that the destruction process was carried out in cooperation with customs, security agencies and concerned authorities in accordance with the law and the powers vested in the authority, based on its role in consumer protection.

The authority called on all importers, manufacturers and producers to adhere to the standard specifications in the import, production and manufacturing processes. Emphasizing that it will not tolerate any products that violate specifications and standards.
