Amran Water Basin Committee discussed in its meeting , chaired on Monday by Governor Dr. Faisal Jumaan, the files of 13 applications for drilling a new well and deepening in the districts of the basin.
The meeting, attended by the directors of the branches of the water resources authorities, Engineer Fahd Sufyan, the Rural Water Projects Authority, Engineer Kamal Al-Makhdhi, the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, Nabil Zaid, and the directorates of Ayal Serih Mohammed Hiba and Amran Abdul Rahman Al-Emad, reviewed the applications for licensing water wells in the districts of Jabal Yazid, Raidah, Ayal Serih and Amran.
At the meeting, Governor Jumaan stressed the need to observe the conditions of the license application files and examine them carefully in order to preserve the water of Amran Basin and develop water resources.
He pointed out the importance of everyone playing their role in protecting the water resources of Amran Basin, applying the laws and regulations in force to protect the basin from depletion and prevent random drilling.
The Director of the Water Resources Authority Branch, Engineer Fahad Al-Sufyani, reviewed the technical details of the applications submitted to the Authority's branch to grant licenses to drill new and alternative wells, the specific locations of the submitted applications and their details, the justifications for submitting the applications, their legality and technical observations on them.
