Sa'ada - Saba:
Engineer Faris Al-Shamahi, Deputy Director General of the Central Emergency Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development, paid an inspection visit to the Shada Directorate to review its needs for road projects. He was accompanied during the visit by the unit's representative in Saada Governorate, Eng. Abdulrab Al-Qadi and the specialized technical staff.
The delegation listened to the residents' demands regarding the implementation of new road projects to facilitate movement and access to markets and basic services. They also inspected previously implemented projects, including:
- Expansion and maintenance of Al-Aqoum - Bani Al-Anaq Road (3 km).
- Paving the Thaher Hamdan - Ras Al-Jabal - Al-Matab Road.
- Paving the Mu'taq Al-Arji - Thaher Hamdan Road.
- Construction of the sector road linking Al-Namoush and Al-Matab (8.5 km), which serves more than 5,000 people in the Shadda and Razih Directorates, and contributed to reducing the distance between them.
Al-Shamahi stressed the need to enhance efforts and community participation to complete the opening of more roads, especially in isolated mountainous areas, noting that the roughness of the roads represents a major challenge for the residents of the directorate in moving and transporting basic materials. He also stressed the importance of implementing other development projects, such as schools and health facilities, to improve the lives of citizens.
The visit comes as part of the Intervention Unit plan to follow up on the needs of rural and remote areas and improve their infrastructure.
