Hamas official: Hezbollah fighters to be released in deal's 2nd phase
[18/ January/2025]

Gaza - Saba:

A leading source in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas late on Friday said the release of all detainees after October 7, including Hezbollah fighters, will be postponed to the second phase.

In a statement to Al-Mayadeen, the Hamas official added that in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, prisoners sentenced before the Al-Aqsa Intifada will be released.

In the first phase, women, children and civilians who were arrested during the Al-Aqsa Intifada will also be released, he said.

It is worth noting that the Zionist enemy published videos during its aggression on Lebanon, claiming that they were operations to capture Hezbollah fighters, noting that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon did not provide any information regarding this detail, positively or negatively.

A special source in the Palestinian resistance had previously revealed to the media that Cairo's preparations are in full swing "in order to begin implementing the ceasefire agreement."

In the details, the source indicated that the preparations revolve around handing over prisoners, relief, and field follow-up of any violations of the ceasefire agreement, "with the presence of Egypt, Qatar, America, and Zionism in addition to Hamas."

The source on Friday said 30 Palestinian female and child prisoners will be released in exchange for every female and child prisoner held by Hamas, and that 30 elderly and sick Palestinian prisoners will be released in exchange for every elderly (50 years old) and sick prisoner.
