The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects cold to very cold weather in a number of governorates during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that it expects cold to very cold weather during the night and early morning hours in the governorates of Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran and Saada, with the possibility of frost (thaw) forming in parts of them.
The weather is likely to be cold in the deserts of Hadhramaut and Shabwa and the highlands of the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale'e, Lahj, Abyan, southern Marib and western Al-Jawf.
While the weather is relatively cold in the highlands of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit and Raymah.
The center reported that the lowest temperatures recorded in some meteorological stations this morning were as follows: Amran: 00.5, Dhamar: 00.6, Al Bayda: 00.8, Sana'a: 02.0, Ibb: 06.7, Sayoun: 06.8, Taiz: 08.8 degrees Celsius.
It warned citizens in the highlands and deserts, especially the elderly, children, patients and workers during the late night and early morning hours of the cold weather.
The center advised farmers to take the necessary measures to protect crops from the effects of severe cold, as well as livestock herders, beekeepers and poultry farmers to preserve them.
