Gaza - Saba:

The Palestinian Center for the Protection of Journalists on Thursday called on the Zionist enemy authorities to grant independent journalistic crews and human rights experts unconditional access to the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestinian media outlets, the center expressed in a statement its hope that the ceasefire announced in Gaza would mark the beginning of a new phase that includes journalists practicing their work freely and safely.

The center said Journalists in Gaza paid the highest price - their lives - to inform the world of some of the horrors that occurred in Gaza during this prolonged aggression that killed a generation of correspondents.

It pointed out that the aggression not only destroyed the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip, but also harmed the Palestinian media fabric, and media headquarters and newsrooms were destroyed and severely damaged.

The center stressed that rebuilding the media sector in Gaza requires international support and intensive work to compensate for the losses suffered by journalists and their institutions.

It stressed that an independent investigation is the only way to ensure accountability and justice for victims.

It is noteworthy that the figures of the Government Media Office in Gaza indicated that the number of journalist martyrs reached 205 since the beginning of the genocide in the Strip.
