Leaders of Ministry of Education visit Grand Mosque in Sana'a

Leaders of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research visited several Islamic and historical monuments in the old city of Sana’a, to celebrate the anniversary of the Yemenis’ entry into Islam on the Friday of Rajab.

The visit included the Grand Mosque, where officials were briefed on the Holy Qur’an memorization sessions and seminars discussing the role of Yemenis in spreading Islam. In addition to the mosque’s library, which includes rare books and manuscripts, including the Holy Qur’an in the handwriting of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib. They also listened to an explanation about the history of the Grand Mosque, as the first mosque built in Yemen and the third mosque in Islam after the Quba Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

The delegation also visited the Imam Ali Mosque and Souq Al-Halaqa, which carries historical symbolism as it is the place where the Yemenis gathered around Imam Ali during his call. them to Islam, in addition to visiting other historical landmarks in old Sana’a.

The visitors expressed their pride in this visit, which confirms the Yemeni faith identity and highlights the role of Yemenis in supporting Islam, stressing the importance of these monuments in teaching religious sciences and transferring knowledge to future generations.
