The Health and Environment Office in Taiz province on Wednesday launched a campaign to distribute 348,150 mosquito nets impregnated with pesticide to prevent malaria.
The six-day campaign, supported by the Global Fund to Fight Malaria and the International Organization for Migration, targets 558,617 residents in several districts of the province.
Director General of the Health Office Abdulmalek al-Mutawakel emphasized the importance of this campaign in combating malaria and protecting the health of the population.
Al-Mutawakel said the campaign involves teams distributing mosquito nets door-to-door to ensure widespread coverage.
He said the campaign demonstrates the commitment of the health authorities in Taiz province to improving public health and preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
The distribution campaign was launched in the districts of Sharab al-Rawnah, Sharab al-Salam, al-Taezeyah, Mawiah, Haifan, Khadir, al-Selwi, and Samea.
