New York - Saba:

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said the pattern of Zionist attacks on Gaza hospitals raises fears of serious crimes.

The commission said in a report on Tuesday that at least 136 strikes on some 27 hospitals and 12 other medical facilities had been documented.

It stressed that deliberately targeting hospitals and civilians is a war crime.

It explained that reports indicate cases of torture and ill-treatment at Kamal Adwan Hospital.

It warned that the fate of the hospital's director, Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, was still unknown.

Israel's attacks caused horrific destruction at Kamal Adwan Hospital and left residents without care.

It added that the scale of the Zionist attacks on Gaza hospitals reflected a flagrant disregard for international humanitarian law.

"Israel's allegations about Palestinian armed groups using hospitals are vague and broad."

UNHCR said the enemy army likely used 2,000-pound bombs on Gaza hospitals.

"We documented the death of a volunteer nurse after she was shot in the chest inside al-Awda Hospital in Jabalya," it said.

It called for an independent investigation and accountability for those responsible for violations of international law in Gaza.

It called for the immediate release of all medical personnel arbitrarily detained in Gaza.
