The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that its forces inflicted heavy losses on Ukrainian forces on the Kursk axis, and continued their advance to regain control of the province.
The Russian defense said, in a statement, that units of the forces of the Russian "North" group continued their offensive operations, targeting Ukrainian offensive brigade formations in the regions of Viktorovka, Zaulichenka, Kubatkin, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martinovka, Nikolaevka, Nikolaivo Darino, Nikolsky, Novaya, Sorochina, Sverdlikovo and Cherkassy Konobylka, noting that they also repelled four counterattacks of Ukrainian attack groups.
Today, the Ukrainian armed forces lost more than 200 military personnel killed and wounded, in addition to the destruction of an armored personnel carrier, an armored combat vehicle, an electronic warfare station, and five vehicles.
Since the start of hostilities last August, the total losses of the Ukrainian armed forces on the Kursk axis have reached about 43,510 military personnel.
On the sixth of August, the Ukrainian army launched a surprise attack on the Russian province of Kursk, penetrating it for hundreds of kilometers, in a new shift recorded by the war between the two countries, which is approaching its third year.
