The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects cold to very cold weather in a number of governorates during the next 24 hours.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the center, very cold weather is expected during the night and early morning in the governorates of Al Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran and Saada, with the possibility of frost (thaw) forming in parts of them.
While the weather will be relatively very cold in the highlands of the governorates of Ibb, Al Dhale'e, Lahj, Abyan, and the highlands and deserts of the governorates of Al Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Marib and Al Jawf.
It indicated that the weather may be cold in the highlands of Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Raymah and Taiz.
The center explained that the lowest temperatures recorded in some meteorological stations this morning were as follows: Rasaba - Dhamar: -3.8, Dhi Na'im - Al Bayda: -2.2, Amran: -0.6, Sana'a: 0.2, Sayoun: 5.3, Ibb: 5.6, Al Jawf: 6.9, Ataq: 7.4, Al Mahwit: 8.2, Ad Dali': 8.9, Hajjah: 9.0, Taiz: 10.0 degrees Celsius.
The center called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients and workers during the late night and early morning hours, to take the necessary measures to protect themselves from cold and very cold weather.
It urged farmers to take the necessary precautions and follow the instructions to protect their crops, as well as livestock herders, beekeepers and poultry keepers to protect them from the effects of severe cold.
