The year 2024 saw unprecedented escalation in terms of targeting reporters, as the International Federation of Journalist (IFJ) documented the killing of 104 reporters around the World, more than a half of them in Gaza Strip.
This is one of the worst years for the journalists, IFJ secretary-general said, condemning the massacre happening in Palestine before the World's eyes, as 55 Palestinian reporters were killed in 2024.
Since 7 October 2023, the war left 138 Palestinian journalists killed, making Gaza one of the most dangerous areas in press history, beside Iraq, Philippines and Mexico, IFJ said in a report.
