Baghdad - Saba: An Iraqi security source announced on Tuesday that the US "Victoria Base" was targeted at Baghdad International Airport.
Iraqi media quoted the source as saying: The Victoria military base in the vicinity of Baghdad airport was bombed at dawn today with missiles.
The source added, "The ceram system has been activated for the alarm."
He noted that a rocket landed between the wall separating the civilian and military wall.
A second security source also said in a statement to the agency "Shafaq News" that the shelling was carried out with two missiles, one of which fell in the vicinity of the base, specifically at the headquarters of the second regiment, the Counter-Terrorism Service, and the other near a runway at the civilian airport.
The source pointed out that the shelling was carried out through a platform in the Amiriya area, west of Baghdad. Al-Qaeda's missile defence system has been activated to counter the bombardment, he said.
