GAZA August 30. 2024 (Saba) - World Health Organization emergency chief Dr. Michael J. Ryan said on Friday that only 17 of the 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip were partially served.
Ryan added that hospitals are at risk due to material damage, fuel shortages, limited medical supplies and staff shortages.
Attacks on healthcare services in Gaza continue to be reported, where the healthcare system has been largely destroyed.
"The World Health Organization documented 1,098 attacks on health care services in the occupied Palestinian territory between October 7, 2023 and August 22, 2024, of which 492 occurred in Gaza," the official said.
"These attacks resulted in 747 casualties and 969 injuries," he said.
