
MAHWIT August 29. 2024 (Saba) - The Undersecretary of Administration Ministry , Local and Rural Development, Ammar Al-Hareb, and the Director General of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Finance Ministry , Eng. Shihab Ahmed Al-Shami, inspected on Thursday the work being carried out by the unit in Hamdan district in Malhan district in Al-Mahwit province, which was damaged by torrential floods resulting from heavy rains that the district witnessed during the past two days.
During the inspection, Undersecretary Hareb and Eng. Al-Shami discussed the plans and work paths for opening damaged roads, rescue operations, and providing the necessary assistance to the affected in a number of areas of the district.
In turn, the Director of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, Eng. Al-Shami, confirmed that a number of paving equipment had previously arrived, and work had begun to open roads and facilitate movement and traffic in the affected areas.
He explained that additional equipment is on its way to the areas to open the cut-off roads and facilitate the reconnection the affected villages to the main roads.
Eng. Al-Shami stressed that work is proceeding at full speed to confront emergencies and flood damage.
