
HODEIDA August 29. 2024 (Saba) - Marawiea-based Iktifa'a (self-sufficiency) Agricultural Cooperative on Thursday started planting desert lands and sandbanks in the Yemeni western governorate of Hodeida.
The project is aimed to expand lands viable to grow grain crops so as to make the best use of rain season and achieve self-sufficiency.
The Cooperative's chairman, Mohamed Attiyah, called for the reclamation of arable lands in deserts, in order to achieve food security.
