RAMALLAH August 29. 2024 (Saba) - The Palestinian Prisoners' Club and the Prisoners' Affairs Authority have reported ongoing field investigations and violations by Israeli forces in the West Bank, particularly in Tulkarm, Jenin, Tubas, and Ramallah.
According to a joint statement released Wednesday night, Palestinians subjected to these investigations have shown signs of torture upon their release.
Palestinian media sources have reported that Israeli forces have forcibly expelled several Palestinians from their homes in Jenin and deployed snipers on rooftops.
Eyewitnesses also described a siege around Jenin Hospital, where clashes with Israeli forces are ongoing.
Israeli Channel 14 confirmed that a soldier was injured in Jenin camp following an attack by what it labeled as "militants."
Additionally, reports indicate that Israeli forces have raided numerous homes in Nour Shams camp in Tulkarm, converting some into detention and interrogation centers.
In Nablus, Israeli forces arrested dozens of Palestinians in a building at Far'a camp. Since early Wednesday, Israeli forces have besieged Nour Shams camp and deployed snipers in Far'a camp in Tubas.
The West Bank continues to experience frequent raids and confrontations, contributing to a significant number of Palestinian arrests and casualties.
This escalation coincides with the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has led to extensive civilian casualties and destruction.
Since October 7, the Israeli military campaign in Gaza—backed by American and European support—has resulted in extensive bombings of civilian areas, including hospitals and homes.
The United Nations reports that the conflict has caused 40,534 deaths, 93,778 injuries, and displaced 90 percent of Gaza’s population.
