RAMALLAH August 28. 2024 (Saba) - The Islamic resistance movement Hamas on Wednesday dubbed the siege imposed by the "Zionist fascist enemy army on hospitals" in the cities of Tulkarm and Jenin as a serious violation of international and humanitarian law.
The movement said in a statement that besieging hospitals, bulldozing roads around them and cutting them off in front of the arrival of teams and ambulances, and preventing the wounded and injured from reaching them while waging a barbaric military campaign on several areas of the occupied bank is a serious violation of international and humanitarian law and represents a threat to the lives of hundreds of patients and medical staff inside hospitals.
Hamas warned of the criminal intentions of the fascist enemy army towards the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and its civilian facilities, especially hospitals, and of committing crimes and violations similar to its brutal war in the Gaza Strip, which affected health facilities, hospitals, and medical complexes, in continuation of the war of extermination being waged against our Palestinian people.
It called on the international community, the World Health Organization, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to take urgent action to force the enemy to end its targeting of hospitals and the health sector and to work to stop these crimes and escalating violations against our Palestinian people, their land, and holy sites.
Youth calls were launched to escalate the confrontation at all points of contact with the forces of the Zionist enemy, and to intensify confrontations in all cities, villages and towns in the West Bank.
The calls stressed the need to expand the scope of confrontations to include new points and to create comprehensive field pressure in light of the fierce campaign and the ongoing aggression to which our people are exposed in the Tubas, Tulkarm, and Jenin areas.
