 Agricultural Services Corporation discussing efforts within framework of strategy of localizing dairy industry

SANA'A August 27. 2024 (Saba) - Minister of Finance Abdul-Jabbar Ahmed Mohamed met on Tuesday with the Executive Director General of the General Organization for Agricultural Services, Eng. Adnan Hashid.

The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Finance for the Economic Units Sector, Dr. Akram Al-Washli, Revenues Ali Al-Shamahi, and the Head of the Tax Authority, Wahid Al-Kibsi, was devoted to discussing the Foundation's efforts within the framework of the national strategy for the localization of the dairy and its derivatives industry, and its role in establishing milk collection centers in the targeted districts in Hodeidah Governorate and reselling and supplying them to dairy factories.

He touched on the interventions of the Hodeidah Governorate Support and Development Fund in financing milk collection centers following the government's priorities and the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council in this regard.

During the meeting, the Minister of Finance stressed keenness to support such projects that contribute to creating job opportunities, encouraging self-initiatives for members of society, and improving their living conditions.

He stressed the need to pay attention to the quality of outputs to meet the standard specifications and work to develop and update the means and equipment used to improve and improve outputs continuously.

Minister Abdul Jabbar pointed out that the national strategy to localize the dairy and dairy industry is one of the priorities in the program of the government of change and construction.

For his part, the Foundation Executive Director pointed out that the milk collection centers in the districts of Beit Al-Faqih and Al-Mansuriyah produce approximately 110,000 liters of milk per day, benefiting nearly six thousand families. He stressed that the Foundation is in the process of establishing centers in the districts of Az-Zuhrah, Al-Marawi'ah, Bajil, and Az-Zaydiyah.
