Amnesty Int'l calls for probe into Zionist attacks on Gaza as war crimes
[27/ August/2024]
LONDON August 27. 2024 (Saba) - The Amnesty International (AI) on Tuesday called for an investigation into the Zionist army's failure to take measures needed to protect the civilians during its attacks on areas hosting Gaza displaced persons, noting that such failure "amounts to war crime."

While targeting the Kuwaiti Salam Camp west Rafah on 26 May, the Israeli army failed to take potential measures to avoid or minimize harm on civilians in IDP camps, the AI said.

On the 28th of the same month, the Israeli army bombed a cite in Mawasi west Khan Younis City, claiming the lives of tens of displaced civilians, including children and women, the AI added in recent report.

In its attack on the Salam Camp, the army used two US-made GBU-39 guided bombs that release deadly shrapnel on wide area, leaving at least 36 civilians killed, including children, says the report.

The use of this type of weapons in a camp crowed with the displaced is an inappropriate attack that does not discriminate between civilians and combaters, the AI added, calling for probe into the attack as "a war crime."
