
SANA'A August 26. 2024 (Saba) -The supreme committee for protecting the old city of Sana'a on Monday held a meeting chaired by director of president's office, Ahmed Hamid.
The meeting discussed conditions of Sana'a Old City and ways to improve services and remedy damages left by recent rainfalls and resultant floods, in order to its position as a World Heritage site.
The meeting highlighted the need for private sector's and communities' contributions to government's efforts aimed to preserve the Old City and improve services there.
The meeting reviewed an emergency plan developed by the historic cities authority to save the City from floods, and proposed the formation of community committees tasked with enhancing the government efforts in this regard.
