BRUSSELS August 26. 2024 (Saba) - The European Mission in the Red Sea "Aspedes" revealed on Monday, that fires are still burning on a ship flying the Greek flag since an attack by the Yemeni armed forces three days ago.
The mission said in a statement published on its page via the (X) platform: The fires have been burning on the ship "Sonion" since August 23.
It explained that there are still at least five fires on the main deck of the ship, especially around the openings of the ship's oil tanks, in addition to that, part of the upper structure is also burning.
It indicated that there are no clear signs of an oil leak so far.. noting that the ship is anchored at the same point in international waters.
