SANA'A August 25. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across several provinces over the next 24 hours.
According to the center's latest weather bulletin, some thunderstorms are expected to be very heavy, accompanied by hail and strong winds.
Affected areas include Tihama plain and the coasts of Hajjah, Hodeida, Taiz, as well as parts of Sa'ada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz.
In addition, scattered rain showers are anticipated in parts of Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Abyan, Aden, Lahj, Dhale', Bayda, Marib, and Jawf.
The center has issued warnings for citizens to avoid valleys and flood-prone areas, be cautious of thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and reduced visibility due to rain and fog. There is also a risk of rock falls on roads and mountain slopes, as well as potential collapses of mud and makeshift structures due to ongoing rainfall.
Th center also urged authorities to take necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property and to stay updated with the center’s forecasts and reports.
