GAZA August 25. 2024 (Saba) - An 8-month-old infant and her mother were killed, and others were injured in an Israeli artillery shelling of a house in al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" reported, quoting a medical source at "Al-Awda Hospital", that "medical crews received two martyrs, a baby girl and her mother, who were killed as a result of the Israeli shelling in Al-Bureij camp."
On the other hand, the withdrawal of the Israeli enemy forces from areas north of Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip revealed widespread destruction of residential buildings and the property of Palestinian citizens.
The great destruction was concentrated in the "Hamad Residential City" area, where Israeli enemy aircraft destroyed dozens of residential apartments and razed towers to the ground, according to what the "Wafa" agency reported from eyewitnesses.
The witnesses explained that there are dozens of residential buildings that were razed to the ground in areas north of Khan Yunis city, in addition to bulldozing of Palestinian citizens' lands and property.
Witnesses reported that ambulance and rescue crews are searching for missing persons in the areas that the Zionist enemy army invaded and targeted.
They pointed out that a number of bodies of martyrs and dismembered limbs were recovered north of Khan Yunis, where they were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex in the city.
Medical sources announced the arrival of the bodies of 60 martyrs to Nasser Medical Complex, who were killed since dawn yesterday and during the past two days in the southern Gaza Strip, in addition to at least 11 martyrs who were killed in different parts of the Gaza Strip.
The Zionist invasion in northern Khan Yunis led to the forced displacement of thousands of citizens from their homes to the western and central areas of the Gaza Strip.
During the past few days, tanks and military vehicles of the Zionist enemy invaded the northern areas of Khan Yunis, but they withdrew on Saturday and are now stationed in the eastern areas of the city.
In a non-final tally, the number of Palestinian martyrs since the beginning of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7 has risen to 40,334 martyrs, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to 93,356 wounded.
