GAZA August 24, 2024 (Saba) - A member of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Political Bureau, Izzat Al-Rishq, on Saturday said his movement’s delegation arrived in Cairo this evening, headed by the vice-chairman of the Movement’s Political Bureau, Khalil Al-Hayya, in order to hear the results of the negotiations round.
Al-Rishq said in press statements: “Hamas is committed to what it agreed to on July 2, which is based on announcement of US President Joe Biden on May 31, and Security Council Resolution (2735), issued on June 11, regarding the war in Gaza.”
He added: "We are ready to implement what was agreed upon, and we demand pressure on the occupation, obliging it to implement this, and to stop obstructing an agreement."
Yesterday, a senior resistance source told Al-Mayadeen TV that the mediators 'reached new formulas for approaches to the controversial issues between Hamas and Israel," and that "these points revolve around withdrawal from Netzarim, Philadelphia, Rafah crossing, and prisoners."
The senior source in Palestinian resistance added that "Israel adheres to its refusal to release about 65 prisoners sentenced to life sentences, and rejects a complete withdrawal from the Philadelphia axis in the first stage, and insists on the presence of military sites along the border."
He pointed out that Israel still insists on presence of the international mission EUBAN at Rafah crossing, as a condition for withdrawing from and operating the crossing.
