Palestinian HM warns of medicine shortage repercussions on patients' life
[24/ August/2024]
GAZA August 24. 2024 (Sab) - The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip on Saturday warned of the repercussions of medicine shortage on lives of patients, amid Zionist persistent aggression and closure of the Strip's crossings.

"We warn of the repercussions of the unprecedented lack of medicines and medical consumables on the lives of patients, as hospitals and health centers suffer from a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies," the Ministry said in a statement.

It added taht "60% of the list of basic medicines and 83% of the list of medical consumables have been sold out of the Ministry's warehouses, which will lead to a complete cessation of therapeutic services, most notably emergency services, operations, intensive care, dialysis services, primary health care, and mental health, which threatens the lives of patients and the wounded.

The Ministry appealed to all international agencies and concerned parties to quickly intervene and provide the needed medicines and medical supplies.

It is worth mentioning that this comes in light of the continued Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, the occupation’s control over all crossings in the Strip, and its continued targeting of the health sector in Gaza.
