SANA'A August 18. 2024 (Saba) - Minister of Finance Abdul-Jabbar Ahmed Mohammed met on Sunday with Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim.
During the meeting, measures to reduce the effects of floods were discussed within the framework of the emergency plans of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works.
The meeting, which was attended by the head of the Customs Authority, Eng.
Adel Margham, stressed the importance of coordination with the relevant authorities to implement emergency interventions and respond quickly to address the damage caused by floods in the capital and governorates.
He touched on the means of emergency response and providing work mechanisms to avoid any losses and damages in many areas in the affected governorates.
The meeting stressed the importance of coordinating efforts between the various authorities, each according to its specialization, in a way that ensures a quick response and determining priorities in line with the extent of the damage caused by floods and rains.
The meeting also reviewed the maintenance work on the Beit Al-Faqih-Hodeidah road, and the completion of field teams of maintenance procedures and opening the road to citizens.
Minister Abdul-Jabbar stressed that all the capabilities, mechanisms and equipment of the Hodeidah Support and Development Fund will be harnessed to confront the flood damage in the districts of Hodeidah Governorate.
