Palestinian child injured as Israeli army suppressed Kafr Qaddum weekly rally

OCCUPIED QUDS August 16. 2024 (Saba) - Palestinian child was injured by live bullets and dozens suffocated on Friday, when the Zionist enemy forces suppressed Kafr Qaddum weekly anti-settlement march, east of Qalqilia.

Local sources said that enemy soldiers fired live bullets, stun grenades, and poisonous gas bombs at the march participants, leaving 14-year-old boy injured in the foot. He was taken to a hospital in Nablus. His injury was described as stable, and dozens of people with suffocation were treated on the field.

The enemy forces had stormed the village at noon, and surrounded the Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque, from which the weekly march began, but no arrests were reported.

It is noteworthy that Kafr Qaddum march began in early July 2011 to demand the opening of the village street, which was closed by the enemy army during the second intifada in 2003, and to reject settlement plans.

The street that was closed by the Zionist enemy connects Kafr Qaddum with neighboring villages and towns, and it facilitated citizens’ access to their lands and places. Its closure hindered the movement of citizens and exhausted them financially and morally, forcing them to walk through bypass roads to meet their daily needs.
