TEHRAN August 16. 2024 (Saba) - The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday said that strengthening relations between his country and Indonesia enhances unity and solidarity in Islamic world.
Deepening Iran-Indonesia relations contributes to strengthening unity and solidarity among the Islamic world and establishing security and stability at the international level, Tasnim International News Agency quoted Pezeshkian as saying in a letter to his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo, on the occasion of his country’s independence day.
In his message, the Iranian President expressed his hope that the shared historical ties between Iran and Indonesia and the exploitation of the great capabilities available to the two countries in various fields will contribute to the continuation and strengthening of bilateral relations between them.
It is worth noting that Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world in terms of population, gained its independence on August 17, 1949 after it was a colony of the Netherlands.
