
QALQILYA August 16. 2024 (Saba) - The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of a citizen and the injury of others, one of them critically, last night, in an attack by settlers on the village of Jit, east of Qalqilya.
The ministry reported, according to the Palestinian WAFA news agency, that the body of the martyred young man Rashid Mahmoud Abdul Qader Sedda (23 years old), who was critically injured in the chest by settlers' bullets, arrived at Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus, from Jit village .
For its part, local sources said that armed settlers attacked the village and fired live bullets at citizens, which led to the injury of the young man Sedda and another citizen with critical injuries.
For his part, Wall director and Settlement Resistance Commission in the northern West Bank, Murad Ishtawi, reported that the settlers attacked the western area of the village, and set fire to four houses and six vehicles, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, which also fired bullets, sound bombs and toxic gas at the citizens.
Local sources said that the occupation forces closed the entrances to the village and prevented civil defense crews from reaching to extinguish the fires in the houses and vehicles that the settlers had burned.
