SANA'A August 15. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast thunderstorms of varying intensity in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.
The center reported in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it is expected that rain of varying intensity will fall, accompanied by thunderstorms, descending winds and hail will fall on the highlands of Lahj, Al Dhale', Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Sa'ada provinces and Tihama Plain.
It is likely that rain of varying intensity will fall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, on parts of Al Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Al Bayda, Marib and Al Jawf provinces, the western and southern coasts and the adjacent inland areas.
The center called on citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall, to take precautions and be careful not to be in valleys and torrents during and after rainfall and from thunderstorms, strong descending winds and falling hail.
It warned vehicle drivers of the decrease in horizontal visibility due to rainfall and the formation of low clouds on mountain roads , from rock collapses and crossing ground bridges during the flow of torrents.
The National Center called on official bodies to take the necessary measures and procedures to protect lives, property , to follow up on the bulletins and reports issued by it.
