Israel approves conversion of land in Bethlehem into settlement outpost
[14/ August/2024]
RAMALLAH August 14.2024 (Saba) - Zionist enemy authorities on Wednesday approved the annexation of lands in Bethlehem Governorate, with an area of 338 dunums, for benefit of a "zone of influence" for “Nahal Hailtz” outpost established on lands of the governorate itself, for the purpose of converting it into a settlement.

This comes within the framework of the occupying state’s efforts to “settle the situation” or “legitimize” the colonial outpost that was established on lands of Bethlehem Governorate, specifically the lands of Beit Jala and Battir under the name “Nahal Hailtz”, among the five colonies approved by the occupation “cabinet” last June.

The occupier "legitimized" them and turned them into settlements, as part of his response to wave of international recognition of Palestinian state, as the procedures for this "settlement" began by converting the lands of Jabal Subeih, south of Nablus, into state lands for benefit of the "Avitar" outpost.

It is noteworthy that Zionist enemy authorities had previously agreed at the beginning of this year to build a new settlement in the Bethlehem Governorate called “Mishmar Yehuda” in “Gush Etzion” south of the governorate.
