GAZA August 12. 2024 (Saba) - The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" confirmed, in a statement issued yesterday, Sunday, regarding the "tripartite statement on ceasefire negotiations", and the call to resume negotiations on August 15 in Doha or Cairo, its support for any effort that achieves a halt to the aggression.
Hamas said in its press release that since the beginning of the aggression, it has been keen to make the efforts of the mediating brothers in Egypt and Qatar successful, to reach a ceasefire agreement , end the war of genocide against our people, and it confirmed its support for any effort that achieves a halt to the aggression.
It pointed out that in this context, the movement agreed to the mediators' proposal on May 6, 2024, and welcomed President Biden's announcement on May 31, 2024, and UN Security Council Resolution 2735 in this regard, which the enemy met with rejection , continued massacres against our people, and continued to emphasize its position that it is not serious about a permanent ceasefire, and its aggressive practices against our people were practical evidence of that.
Hamas explained that "although we and our mediator brothers in Egypt and Qatar are aware of the true intentions and positions of the occupation and its prime minister, the movement responded to the last agreement on July 2, 2024, which the enemy confronted with new conditions that were not proposed throughout the negotiation process, went on to escalate its aggression against our people and commit more massacres, leading to the assassination of the movement's leader, the martyr Ismail Haniyeh - may God have mercy on him - in confirmation of its intentions to continue the aggression and not reach a ceasefire agreement."
"Even after the announcement of the tripartite statement, the enemy committed a heinous crime and committed a massacre against the displaced people in Al-Tabi'in School in Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza while they were performing the dawn prayer on Saturday 8/10/2024, which led to the martyrdom of more than a hundred civilians and the wounding of more than 250 of them," she said.
Hamas called on the mediators to submit a plan to implement what they presented to the movement and agreed to on 7/2/2024, based on Biden's vision , the Security Council resolution, and to oblige the occupation to do so, instead of going to more rounds of negotiations or new proposals that provide cover for the occupation's aggression and give it more time to perpetuate the war of genocide against our people."
