SANA'A August 11. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects thunderstorms of varying intensity in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.
The center said in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it expects thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by descending winds and hail sometimes, in Marib, Al-Jawf, Sana'a, Sa'dah, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale', northern Lahj, Al-Bayda provinces and the plain and highlands of Tihama, reaching the western coasts Hajjah, Al-Hodeida and Taiz provinces.
Varying intensity rains are expected, accompanied by thunder, in parts of Al-Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa and the southern coasts provinces.
The center warned citizens against being in valleys and flood paths during and after rainfall, and against thunderstorms sometimes accompanied by hail, rock and mud collapses on mountain slopes and mud houses.
It also warned against low horizontal visibility due to rainfall and dense low clouds on mountain roads, and against strong downward winds that stir up dust and sand in coastal and desert areas.
The center called on the relevant official authorities to take the necessary measures and procedures to protect lives , property , follow up on the bulletins and reports issued by it.
