Presidential Committee launches cash assistance distribution to flood victims' families in Hodeida

HODEIDA August 10. 2024 (Saba) - The Deputy Prime Minister of the Caretaker Government for Services and Development Affairs - Head of the Presidential Committee to Confront Flood Damage, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, launched on Saturday the distribution of cash assistance to the flood victims' families in the southern square directorates of Hodeida, with the support of Yemen Mobile Company.

The committee began distributing the aid amounts to 30 families, at a rate of one million riyals for each family that has a deceased person as a result of the floods, in the presence of the Ministers of Electricity and Energy in the Caretaker Government, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, and Water and Environment, Eng. Abdul-Raqeeb Al-Sharmani, the First Deputy Governor, Ahmed Al-Bishri, the Deputy Governor, Mohammed Halisi, and the Deputy Governor of the Southern Square, Mutahhar Al-Hadi.

During the field visit and meeting with the victims' families , the head of the presidential committee renewed the condolences of the revolution leader , Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the president of the Supreme Political Council and the government to the victims' families who died as a result of the floods.

He stressed the keenness of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council to address the damage in the regions and villages and provide aid and assistance to the affected families and stand by them.

Dr. Maqbouli explained that the presidential committee tasked with confronting the damage caused by the torrential rains in Al-Hodeida Province continues its field efforts in cooperation with the local authority team in the province and the relevant authorities to alleviate the suffering of those affected.

While the Undersecretary Al-Bishri appreciated the efforts of the presidential committee , the support and interaction of Yemen Mobile Company and all the parties contributing to addressing the damage , providing aid and assistance to the affected families.

He stressed everyone's keenness to address this damage, indicating that the cash assistance provided by Yemen Mobile Company benefits 30 families in the southern directorates, while coordination will be made to help other families in the remaining directorates of the province.
