BAGHDAD August 08. 2024 (Saba) - The Iraqi Fatah Alliance leader, Ali Al-Fatlawi, considered today, Thursday, that the breach of the truce requested by Al-Sudani's government from the resistance factions put them in an embarrassing predicament.
Al-Fatlawi said in a statement to the Iraqi "Al-Maalouma" Agency: "America breached the truce with the resistance shortly after it was concluded by bombing headquarters on the Syrian border and targeting the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf Al-Nasr."
He pointed out that "the Iraqi government put itself in a major predicament in front of the resistance factions, and it must resolve the matter by quickly ending the American presence."
He called on "the Iraqi government to expedite the end of foreign presence in Iraq as it is a popular and political demand."
An Iraqi security source indicated that the US government informed the Iraqi government of its intention to conclude a new truce between it and the resistance factions.
