CARACAS August 06. 2024 (Saba) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called for a boycott of WhatsApp over its use by saboteurs to make threats to military commanders and local officials.
"Say no to WhatsApp because it is used to threaten Venezuela," Maduro said during a rally in central Caracas on Monday, noting that through this application they threaten the Venezuelan military, the police, public leaders and society.
Maduro called on Venezuela citizens to abandon — voluntarily, gradually and radically — the app owned by the US company Meta.
On Sunday, Maduro denounced the use of social media to incite division and hatred among Venezuelans, to commit a massacre, divide Venezuela and bring fascism to the country.
