BEIRUT August 06. 2024 (Saba) - Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri affirmed Hezbollah's right to respond to the Zionist aggression, after the assassination of the party's leader Fouad Shukr in an airstrike that targeted a building in the southern suburb of Beirut.
In an interview with the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Jumhuriya", Berri said that "the current situation is sensitive , delicate, and requires the highest degree of unity among the Lebanese to fortify the country in the face of the Zionist dangers that threaten it."
Berri stressed Hezbollah's right to respond to the Zionist aggression, reiterating that "the resistance has adhered to the rules of engagement from the beginning, and has not deviated from them, while "Israel" deliberately violates them by targeting civilians and deep within Lebanese areas."
Berri had previously stressed "full commitment to Resolution 1701 and its implementation in all its provisions." Berri said, "In the face of any Zionist aggression against Lebanon, we, as Amal Movement and Hezbollah, will be on the lookout and in the front lines to confront it."
