Surgical camp brings relief to Hajjah residents

HAJJAH August 05. 2024 (Saba) – A free surgical medical camp was launched on Monday in Qafl Shammar district of Hajjah province.

Organized by the province's health office in coordination with Qafl Shammar hospital and funded by the General Authority for Zakat, the camp aims to perform 150 surgeries for undescended testicles, cleft lip, palate, and eardrum repair over six days.

The initiative is undertaken in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local authorities.

At the launch, Dr. Hassan Tamah, head of the Health Committee at the General Authority for Zakat, and Fayed al-Malahi, director of the Zakat Authority office in the province, emphasized the camp’s significance in assisting the needy in underserved areas and alleviating patient suffering.

They highlighted that the camp aligns with the General Authority for Zakat’s plans to support the health sector, commending the efforts of the Governorate's Health Office, Qafl Shammar hospital, and the local council for their cooperation.

Dr. Ahmed al-Kuhlani, Director of the province's health office, expressed the office's commitment to organizing such camps to serve patients, especially given the current circumstances.

Al-Kuhlani expressed gratitude for the support of the Minister of Health, the governor, and the general authority for Zakat, emphasizing the need to expand support for the health sector and organize more camps in different districts.

Ibrahim Abu Kharfsha, Director of the district, appreciated the efforts of the province's Health Office and the support of the General Authority for Zakat in organizing the camp, which will benefit those in need.
