OCCUPIED AL-QUDS August 05. 2024 (Saba) - Zionist authorities on Monday issued 90 new administrative detention orders against Palestinian prisoners. Human rights organizations reported that among those detained is Abduljabbar Jarar, a leader of Hamas.
Abduljabbar's wife Wafaa Jarar, 50, died on the same day from injuries sustained during her arrest last May.
The Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and the Prisoners' Club announced that the detention orders range from two to six months.
Administrative detention allows for detention without charge or trial, based on secret evidence that neither the detainee nor their lawyer can access.
These orders can be renewed indefinitely, leaving detainees uncertain about the length of their detention.
Such measures are commonly used during uprisings and conflicts to suppress and intimidate Palestinians.
Since 1967, more than 50,000 administrative detention orders have been issued..
